Yes, Valentine’s Day may be over-commercialised, but for me it serves as a reminder to appreciate the ones we love, not just today, but every day. It’s all too easy to take people for granted, and it only takes a tiny gesture or a few words to make sure they know just how we feel.
And this applies to all kinds of love, not just romantic love. The love we have for friends, family, and even our pets, who give us so much unconditional love just because we exist and are a huge part of their world. Wealth, social status, or anything else matters not a bit to them.
Now that’s a lovely lesson animals can teach us!
