Many artists have given their undisputable contributions to the evolution of Jazz; Luis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald are considered among the greatest.

Improvisation is one of the core characteristics of the genre; the results are constant innovation and reinvention, numerous subgenres, and fusion with other genres and elements from different cultures.

One of my favourite contemporary Jazz musicians is Diana Krall, an outstanding singer and pianist.
