🎼Classical music through the centuries!! 🎵

The music we now call Classical evolved from medieval religious chants, primarily monophonic and simple melodies, which gradually developed into polyphonies over time.

During the Renaissance period, new forms, themes and instruments were introduced, and printing facilitated the distribution and preservation of the partitures.

The Baroque period added new styles, forms and techniques while the orchestras kept growing; the modern instrumental music and opera were born.

Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos are one of the most representative compositions of the period.

Music was mostly confined to aristocratic salons, royal courts and churches, but that changed during Classicism when subscription concerts and music societies began to flourish and composers started to publish their works.
Romanticism brought larger orchestras and more expressive harmonies.

Edward Elgar - Cello Concerto in E minor, one of my favourites

Contemporary classical music has embraced influences from other genres, global sounds, and digital innovation. Danzón No.2 by Arturo Márquez is an example of how classical music can evolve by integrating regional styles and rhythms.
